Currently, the Redding Police Department has six Police Service Dogs. These K9s are trained in a variety of different specialties including searching, tracking, narcotics and SWAT operations.

K9 Njord

Njord is a German Shepherd Dog hailing from the Czech Republic before being acquired for the Redding Police Department. Njord is currently trained in patrol work including searching, tracking and handler protection. Njord's partner and handler is Officer Josh Tracy.
