It's easy and tax deductible to donate to your RPD K9 Unit. Simply purchasing a t-shirt from our store help generate funds for our canine unit thanks to Promotional Images of Redding.
You can check out our DONATE page to give a straight donation or even SPONSOR a specific canine and have your name forever associated with our unit by a sponsorship level (see below). You can even give a donation to help purchase a new police dog if that is your wish.
Each sponsorship will receive special recognition including a commerative plaque with a photo of either an individual K9 that is sponsored to a team photo for a general donation.
BRONZE Sponsor = $500 Donation
SILVER Sponsor = $1000 Donation
GOLD Sponsor = $2,500 Donation
PLATINUM Sponsor = $5,000 Donation
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!
Without the continued support of our community, the K9 program at the Redding Police Department would be no where close to what it is today. What has long been a two dog department, has grown to a five dog program. With this, canines are able to serve each shift and serve the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The canine program is only funded for two positions within the City on an annual basis so it is extremely important that we continue to raise monies for needed supplies and purchasing of new dogs as our current ones start to retire.
To assist in our effort to raise money, we set forth annual goals to achieve for the community to support.
For 2014, our goals are:
-
Attend specialized schools for advanced training
-
Purchase of ballistic vests for each of our dogs
-
Improved K9 vehicles (our current fleet of vehicles are quickly becoming dated)
Special Thanks to:

**PRESS RELEASE**
March 11, 2015
In early 2014, Cronic Disaster Response along with a small group of men who call themselves the R.O.M.E.O.’s (Retired Old Men Eating Out) came together to put on a fundraising event in support of local police canine units. This included the Redding Police Department, Anderson Police Department and the Shasta County Sheriff’s Officer. In October 2014 a golf tournament was held at Gold Hills Golf Club in Redding. Many local businesses and private sponsors were part of making this a successful event.
Leading up to the event, several members of the community sold raffle tickets for the Golf Event. Ms. Patricia Penn of Redding was the top seller of the raffle tickets for the event. Her personal goal was to sell enough tickets to purchase one ballistic vest for her favorite Redding Police dog, K9 Tarro. She was successful in this and we thank Ms. Penn for her hard work and support.
At the conclusion of the event, Cronic Disaster made a donation to the non-profit organization – Communities for Police Canines. The donation covered the cost of four ballistic vests for the Redding Police K9 Unit. One ballistic vest had already been purchased earlier in the year due to a single anonymous donor.
Communities for Police Canines is proud to announce that all five Redding Police K-9’s are now outfitted with ballistic vest. The K-9 Unit has begun training in the vests to familiarize the dogs in the new equipment.
We would like to express our thanks for the ongoing support of our local community, including Cronic Disaster Response and the R.O.M.E.O.’s.
